Let's connect Europe!

We are living in a world in which it has become possible to visit every continent in just a few days. The world has come closer than ever. However, we have to realise that we do not know a lot about the other world residents, not even about those living on the European continent. That is the reason why three young enthusiasts of the Belgian foundation Earth in Motion have created the innovative concept HELLO Europe, which aims at bringing the European citizens closer to each other. However, the three youngsters are still in search of funding to realise this idea.

According to the three young initiators, it is not always necessary to use all those polluting means of transport to travel to other countries. In fact, a glimpse of the different European cultures can be caught by the use of a simple screen. No, we are not talking about Skype or other video conferencing tools. HELLO Europe! wants to place huge screens at central locations in large European cities that can connect to each other.

How does this work when we look at the practical point of view? Well, the screens will be built in large shipping containers of six meters long and two meters tall and will be placed at central locations in Europe. They will be connected to each other 24/7 and enable spectators standing in front of one screen to see and hear people standing in front of another screen. Every thirty minutes the connection changes and different cities will be brought into contact. In this way Europe will appear to be one big city where people are just a few steps removed from each other.

This could be a great initiative, but to realise their plan, the initiators are still in search of funding. Therefore, they encourage as many people as possible to like their introduction video. This way, they hope to arouse potential sponsors’ interest. We are already convinced, that’s for sure. However, we would like to encourage you to watch … and ‘like’ it if you are a supporter of this great concept too!
