'A room of one's own"... That is the conditio sinequa non Virginia Woolf once claimed anyone (more specifically: any woman) requires to be able to explore their artistic potential. Any MTB student - based on your Session 1 presentations - can but agree wholeheartedly. But where to find this "room of our own"...?
Well, Ghent University might have an option for us, if we're willing to make to move to Ostend, that is.
On its Ostend campus, Ghent University disposes of an innovation hub called the Greenbidge Incubator. As a matter of fact, this spring, a second office wing with a seminar room and demo hall
for innovative technologies for sustainable and renewable energy will be
inaugurated in the incubation and innovation center. This will consist of offices
and workshops for starting and growing businesses.
Basically, Greenbridge invites anyone wanting to start a company, commercialize research, or planning to launch a new product onto the market. They claim the 'Greenbridge Incubator' will get you off to a professional start by offering flexible infrastructure, specialized advice and support.
The Greenbridge Incubator focuses primarily on high-tech startups that are active in food, health and wellness, environment and energy and ICT applications in the above mentioned domains.
Now, wouldn't it be wonderful if the MTB team could set up office there? Think of the benefits great infrastructure, a stimulating environment full of budding entrepreneurs and the fresh sea breeze could offer?
Interested? You can visit Greenbridge for a look at these new(est) technologies, to
participate in an eco-team building activity or for the organization of a
seminar or workshop (s) 'at sea'.

Indeed, it would be great if the MTB team could set up office in the Greenbridge incubator. I only think it is very unfortunate that the Greenbridge science park is located in Ostend and not in Ghent.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenI have no problems with moving to Ostend :). I'm all for it!
