Most people – I’m one of them – are provided with plenty of water and use
it on a daily basis. If it isn’t to have a wash, it is to quench one’s thirst. In
fact, water is taken for granted by too many of us. Without thinking, we
overuse and misuse water, which is regrettable.
But could you blame us? We’ve grown up unwittingly and have been brought
up in the lap of luxury. However, it is never too late to swing into action.
The act of becoming more conscious when using water is already a first move in
the right direction.
We can, for example, take shorter showers. Still, there must be other
actions we can take to reduce our water consumption. You maybe never realized
that, on average, we boil twice the volume of water needed every time we use a
kettle, which is actually hard to avoid. But thanks to the Eco Kettle, this can be avoided.
So how is the Eco Kettle different from any other kettle? After you’ve
filled the Eco Kettle to its maximum, you can press the central button in the
lid to release a specific amount of water (from one to eight cups) into the
boiling chamber. In that way, you only boil the water that you need!
By using the Eco Kettle, you can reduce your water consumption and
prevent wasting water. In addition, you will save electricity, money and time
because the kettle reaches the boiling point faster. From now on, your tea
breaks will even be better!
For approximately €43, you can purchase the Eco Kettle on: http://www.myecostore.co.uk/eco-kettle-p-266.html

I just leave the water I didn't use in my kettle and re-use it the next time I need boiled water.. I don’t see why you would throw it away?

BeantwoordenVerwijderenI don't know it for sure, but I guess a lot of people throw the rest of the boiled water away(I think I've done it several times). But it's in a way positive that you re-use the water.
BeantwoordenVerwijderen(that was Lien btw) :D
BeantwoordenVerwijderenBy the way, Lien, you are talking about taking shorter showers to save water. I found the perfect solution: the eco drop shower.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenThis shower forces you to get out when you take too long and waste too much water. The eco drop shower has concentric circles that will rise untill it's too uncomfortable to stand.

I just watched the video.. Now that's original and water-saving! This is really impressive, but I can't help thinking that in some way, this shower is a bit cruel, if you know what I mean... And I'm also afraid that if someone uses this shower, they can "cheat" by putting their feet next to the concentric circles. Nevertheless, it's a great invention and it really could help save a lot of water.
