Japanese invention: machine turns a kilo of plastic into an entire liter of oil!

Hi everyone!

After Jesus making water into wine, Japanese technology is now making plastic into oil! In the world, there are few places to dispose of garbage and the effects of trash can be very bad. Finally, cities all over the world can make their sustainable ambitions come true! This machine is produced in various sizes, for both industrial and home uses and can easily transform a kilogram of plastic waste into one liter of oil.

How does it work? The idea is very simple. It began with the simple realization that plastic is made from oil. Thus, Japanese engineers thought they could convert plastic back into its original form: oil. They invented the oil conversion machine. This invention is actually a non-polluting, fully contained process that heats up the plastic, traps the vapors through a system of pipes and water chambers. These, in turn, cool the vapors and condense them back into oil. It’s just as simple as that! An additional refinement step converts the oil into gasoline.

The system is thanks to the highly-efficient technology able to convert 1 kilogram of plastic into 1 liter of oil (which nowadays costs around €1,5/l) just by using 1 kilowatt of electricity (€0,15) but without emitting CO2 in the process.

The cost of the machine is currently just under 10,000 USD, but by ramping up the production process, they hope to bring the price down.

One important side note: the end product of this conversion system is still fuel that must be burned, and consequently, it will still give off CO2…

What do you think of this “fuel of the future”?
