Most of us
will have to admit that those sentences seem to be correct. But that’s not all,
if you go to the website http://www.kopinteskrap.se/english/, you can discover a lot of other
things about your own pattern of spending. It is a campaign from Sysav, a
recycling company in the heart of Sweden. They try to sensibilize the people in
order to produce less waste, to repair old stuff and to avoid unnecessary
purchases. According to their calculations, “If we
continue to buy, discard and produce at our current rate, the global waste will
have increased by 72%
by 2025.”
An interactive tool
After a
brief introduction on the website, you have the opportunity to fill in your
name or your Facebook profile. If you think you would be ashamed of the result,
don’t hesitate to only fill in your name! ;-) The following is quite
surprising, but the makers tackle the problem very well.
An answer to a lot of questions
They
address you quite personally and succeed in a playful way to catch your
attention on some pertinent issues. A clever trick they use is to ask always
the same type of questions that doom-mongers would ask, like: “Should I move to
the woods and live without electricity?” or “Shall I smell bad and look like
crap?”. Of course, you don’t have to become that extreme, but they always give
you some smart advice. The website emphasizes especially on the fact that you
don’t have to introduce great changes in your daily life: you don’t have to do
a great effort to use biodegradable products or to go shopping in second-hand
stores.
But... Most of all, a challenge!
Although it
is a Swedish site, it doesn’t matter that you have another nationality. A
little hint for those who may be a bit confused: one Swedish kronor is 0,06
euros. And now, discover the rest of the tips and tricks, go to http://www.kopinteskrap.se/english/ and fill in your name and age. Do you dare?
